These cloisonne birds will make lovely storage for all your favorite bits of jewelry. Available from bibelot, you can have your choice of a Finch, Bluejay, or Cardinal (or all 3!). Each bird has a hinged opening and is covered with Swarovski crystals.
Wouldn't these look so adorable on top of your vanity?

Finally blogger has released their ridiculous hold on my blog, and I can once again bring some bird love to the world. I don't even know where to start, I found so many cute things the past few weeks. Thanks for your patience, and now that we are back and running, check in often!

Kevin and I are almost done remodeling our house. Yay!! Our floors have been refinished and we're just waiting for the polyseal to dry. Once that's done, they'll put in the baseboards and we can FINALLY move in. It's only been almost a year.
Now that the main stuff (new walls, new floors, trim, etc.) is almost done, I'm having a lighting dilemmia. We have a lovely new fireplace, and a place for a sconce on each side. I can't decide if I want some ornate crystal affair, or a sleek modern look, or maybe this lovely little birdie from Circa Lighting. You can see some pictures of our remodeling here. Any suggestions??

Anyone in need of some fabulous new calling cards? Moo lets you take any image (that you have permission to use!) and create a set of 100 mini-cards for only $19. The picture is on one side, and your details are on the reverse. Cool! I went strolling through Flickr looking for some fabulous pictures, and I found this gorgeous blue bird from Red Dog 3D. Now all I have to do is write him and ask for permission to use the picture...
Ahoy mates! This darling dress from Australian label Zimmermann is available from Net-A-Porter.com. The dress comes with a rope belt and acrylic anchor charms. Mmm, just perfect for a last minute beach holiday...

How About Orange has a fantastic tutorial for making fabric covered thumbtacks. I'm thinking about using this vintage ribbon from Reprodepot for mine. The little pink birds are super cute! I have a large inspiration bulletin board, and it would be nice to use something other than plain brass tacks to hold up all my pretty pictures.

John James Audubon was an ornithologist and painter best known for cataloging the birds of North America. Each of his paintings depicts the bird set true-to-life in its natural habitat. He published several books of his works, including Birds of North America, which is often regarded as the greatest picture book ever published. Christie's sold a copy in 2000 for $8.8 million and set a world record for most expensive printed book.
The National Audubon society was incorporated in 1905 and named in his honor. Today, on this most patriotic of days, we are celebrating the Bald Eagle.

A few months ago I came across an adorable little doll blanket on Flickr. I followed a few links to find out what genius had created this precious thing, and discovered my new favorite fabric line, Freshcut, by Heather Bailey.
If you like fabrics, you should definitely take a peek. Her patterns are so beautiful, it would be impossible to pick a favorite. For those of you who have used Freshcut fabrics, please post a comment and tell us all about it. Oh, and if anyone wants to make me a purse out of this one, I would be much obliged!

How many pairs of scissors do you own? I'm a firm believer that you can never have too much cutting power. On any given day I own between 2-8 pairs. (The fluctuation is a direct result of my lazy unwillingness to ever put anything back where it goes. ) Perhaps I would take better care of my scissor collection if it was made up of these quirky yet cute bird cutters from Neiman Marcus. The handles are magnetic, so I don't think I could lose them even if I tried.
